Hi all,

I'm looking at fitting a larger bore exhaust system to my 280E project.

I'm planning to fit a turbo in the near future, but the exhaust needs replacing now.

I was wondering if my M110 will be ok with me fitting a 3 inch stainless exhaust system, before the turbo conversion, or will it lose power?

Does the M110 need back pressure to run at optimum performance, or will a free flowing(virtually open) exhaust help it?

I was thinking of a 3 inch exhaust with a single back box (muffler), I'm going to keep the down pipe as short as possible, then when I fit the turbo, I will only swap this, and leave the rest alone.

i think the stock(euro) exhaust is fantastic for flow and torque. larger diameter would make you lose some low end torque. i think you should try copy the stock euro system as much as possible.
