This is good info but I would recommend against screwing with these even if you think you know what you are doing. Why do I say this? Because I have studied WUR's for almost 5 years and have tried to do adjustments to both the pressed in fittings in an effort to adjust control pressures to get the car to run right. There is a relative relationship between the two and if you screw it up it is very difficult to get it right. I'm not saying that it can not be done but it is tedious, error prone, and frustrating, particularly without the correct tools and test equipment.
You really have two options. Get a programmable WUR from Unwired Tools or send your WUR to Larry Fletcher at CIS Flow Tech. I have no connection to either company aside from having done a lot of WUR stuff with both. I recently converted my 85 euro 280E back to factory spec relative to the K-Jet. I had some butchered WUR on the car with no atmospheric or vacuum port so the core was worthless. I contacted Larry and he said not to worry he could custom make me a # 103 WUR which is the last version that went on the 280E. I think the cost for a new one from the Classic Center was close to $ 1000. I think Larry charged me $ 325 and that included the core cost and the rebuilt WUR showed up here in a week.
My 280E now runs great and I am extremely pleased with how the engine performs. It has really surpassed my expectations and that doesn't happen often. That is due in large part to the job Larry did on the WUR. The cost is cheap given how much time you can waste and how much frustration you can subject yourself to.
Trust me on this one!
I've gone down this road a number of times and was gratified when I located Larry's company late one night via Google after several years of searching everywhere I could think of. Larry is a good guy, knows what he is doing, and is willing to share info.
