Hey yall. I just picked up a '77 280E for my wife. It has 255k miles, I bought it today for $1k. It needs a few things, but is overall pretty nice. When going through the paperwork, I noticed the for sale ad from when the gentleman I purchased it from bought it. It mentioned rebuilt engine and new transmission ~220k, in 2001. Sure enough, the receipts are there. The man I purchased it from didn't mention it or even put it in the ad. I know it needs a new alternator, I already replaced the vacuum hose going to the brake booster, the windows and locks are non-op, and the radio is non-functional. It has a scrape on one side, where it looks like someone turned to quickly at the gas pump. I think most of it is just paint from whatever was scrapped against though.

Oh. It came with a set of 5 wire wheels. I don't care to run them, but are they worth anything?

My Alfa and the 280E were both damaged in a hit-and-run overnight.

Bummer that was a really nice car for $1,000. Your front fender is gluee on but if you are going though trouble of replacing it anyway you can bang it up as you remove it if need be.

Is there a source for aftermarket fenders?
