you need to push the pedal down further to get any sort of acceleration but it pulls no matter how fast your going, cant say that with my first one. it has some differences in k-jet system i think because my 81 has the aluminum fuel distributor and my 80 has the black painted one thats starting to rust. not sure if that effects power.
im not driving it yet, i only got a couple minutes with it on the road/highway. it still needs minor work and headlights

That's my heck of the woods, my farm is about 20 miles from there, If I ever get my Euro running maybe we can race a couple laps. We can show those porsches what a mercedes can do.

I got my 78 280ce running, pulled the fuel distributor clean it and put it back on and it runs. Now I have a New old stock distributor which I haven't installed. I am going to see ow it runs with the old one. I need to buy connectors for fuel distributor before I can install it.

That was my plan, the fuel distributor is for 80s 280ce and lambo. I need to fix the fuel tank problem and then see how the car is on the road?

I removed my tank yeaterday, It was a breeze took me 15 minutes. There was atleast a cubic foot for crust rusted metal. I washed the tank and flushed it best I could. Plan is to let it dry for a while and then slosh gasoline in it and drain then repeat until it's mostly clean comming out. as usual i have questions. There are two line in the bottom one that apears to go straight into tank and the other goes up side and to top. No I assume toe one that goes to top would be the vapor line and the one that goes straight in would be the return line. Problem is the return line is full of rust gunk also the vapor line is clogged. I didn't have a flashight or a match to drop in tank to see inside it. I was wondering if I could drill the return line open. I decided to get this car on the road and then work on the truck as truck needs more work (exhaust, transmisson, fenders etc..)
